Milwaukee, WI — [September 15, 2025] — UniteWI, in partnership with the HRSA Maternal & Child Health Bureau, the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, and the Wisconsin Community Health Worker Network, is proud to announce the Informed & Empowered: Navigating Pregnancy with Confidence & Connections webinar series.

Empowering Families Through Knowledge
Each webinar will address critical topics that shape maternal health, including:
Hypertension and high-risk pregnancies
Common pregnancy conditions
Perinatal mood disorders and substance use
The impact of racism, stress, and social determinants on pregnancy outcomes
Strategies for maternal-fetal health, exercise, and holistic support
Sessions will feature leading clinicians and researchers such as Dr. Kara Hoppe, Dr. Jackie Adams, Dr. India Anderson Carter, Dr. Melissa Neal, and Megan Knutson Sinaise, MS.
Addressing Disparities in Maternal and Infant Health
Wisconsin continues to experience one of the widest racial disparities in infant and maternal mortality rates in the country, with Black mothers and infants disproportionately impacted. UniteWI’s Healthy Start initiative, in collaboration with clinical and community partners, is designed to close these gaps by providing education, connection, and support.
“Every family deserves a healthy start. These webinars bring life-saving knowledge directly to the community while also lifting up the expertise of women leaders in medicine and public health,” said Bria Grant, Executive Director of UniteWI. “Through education, connection, and trusted relationships, we are building healthier futures for mothers, babies, and families across Wisconsin.”
